Our home is a community center where Muslims can practice their religion. In addition, we offer a variety of educational, sports and cultural opportunities. We are involved in the areas of youth, senior citizens and integration work. Every year over a thousand people complete language and literacy courses with us, including integration courses that are carried out in cooperation with the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). Our doors are not only open to people of Turkish, Turkish or Muslim origin, but to everyone who is interested. Who are we? We, the DITIB Federal Association, unite 16 regional associations and over 900 local communities across Germany. Our association's goal is to give Muslims a place to practice their faith. In addition, we are intensively involved in the social field. As a non-profit organization, we always have an open, cooperative approach and dialogue with all institutions and religions. Since its foundation, the umbrella association has seen itself as an open house for intercultural and interreligious cooperation. DITIB is expressly committed to the free and democratic basic order. At this point we would like to emphasize that Islam is a peaceful religion that rejects violence and calls for tolerance towards those of different faiths. Islam also rejects forced marriages and honor killings. It is our goal, with the help of Islam and religious principles and values, not only to counteract these societal undesirable developments. Nonviolence and equality are essential principles of a tolerant Islam. These principles also apply to the equal status of women. Our mosque should be an expression of this lived Islam. The activities The DITIB offers religious as well as social, cultural, sporting and educational services.
